I was turned off by the fact that there was a lot of repetition in an already brief book, that the author kept emphasizing the name of his website, but encoding it in the text" 'big, safe dividends', and that he proposed a 'simple formula' for stock valuation that was A payout ratio and B a rating number offered by guess who? Also almost every other page mentions the crash in , which means that this book probably won't age well.

Mar 08, Jeremy Gardiner rated it liked it. I just checked off "a book about money or finance" from my reading challenge. I love compounding money and wish I was taught it earlier in life. Earning dividends is definitely one of the main strategies I plan to use for the rest of my life.
I did learn a few things in this book which I was grateful for but I was expecting more especially was hoping for some motivational content. The portfolio advice he gives is far too con I just checked off "a book about money or finance" from my reading challenge. I like buying Exchange Traded Funds ETF's primarily as they don't incur trade commissions on Questrade at least and they are diversified. Won't go into specific recommendations on picks as I'm not an expert in this area.

It also touched a little bit on building investing portfolio. However, this book will work better for whoever invest in US market as it provided a lot recommendation. I am not sure there is anything earth-shattering about his ideas, but he does layout a tried and true long term aproach to investing in an easy to understand way. The book is quick and really makes the case fir dividend paying stocks and the ever import reinvestment strategy!!

A few things I did like, were his ideas about direct purchase--which mynhuuby has done, but I never have. I plan to look into this in the future. Also for older readers his ideas about timing di Good and easy to read book. Also for older readers his ideas about timing dividends to create cash-flow is a good and helpful resource. I have not looked at his webpage yet, but suspect that is a helpful and clear resource as well. Good read and I recommend for retail investors.
