Inside, the thick, glossy pages are an excellent medium for the frequent full-color images generally of exotic, rare, and detailed chess sets. The books touches on the history of human migrations, military technology, cultural exchange seen in the evolution of pieces in their style and usage. A real treat for anyone with appreciation of the art of chess.

Chapters cover ecumenes , and eras. Dozens of high-quality, colour illustrations of pieces from different cultures and styles, each with some short commentary about their origins. Not too long, but a delightful little book for a chess fan.
A pocket sized, glossy paged, colourful gift to the chess enthusiast. Goes through several antique and modern chess sets. Beautiful has been the development of this great game and much has it contributed to art.

That being said, it was concise and informative for those interested in the game. This includes, for instance, the Patroclo. This light which is literally a fusion of a metal mesh and a hand-blown glass located on the inside is, among other things, part of the Twentieth Century Design Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The first one, a creation by Gianfranco Frattini from , fascinates by its snake-like shape and flexibility associated with it. The latter Artemide Masters Pieces member is also a prime example in terms of flexibility: The light that is emitted in small bundles cuts a great figure, for instance, above a counter or a bar.
This table light by Mario Botta first saw the light of day in and was also exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Due to the striped pole and the perforated lampshade, it already attracts attention while it is switched off. As soon as this light is switched on, it produces a unique play of light within the room.

The extraordinary, colourful designer of the Artemide Callimaco makes it a symbol for the non-conformist spirit that Memphis represented in the s.
